Hawai'i

So far, this trip has been amazing. We took a drive yesterday morning, making a few stops to take in the views from outside of the car. You can see whales just driving in the car! In one spot, when we pulled over, we got a little show of whales. It's just really neat.

We are on the dry side of the island, where they only get 10 inches of rain a year. Today, we'll be driving to the east side of the island, where they get 132 inches of rain a year. It's much more of a rain forest over there. We're getting an early start today, leaving at 7 a.m. We're hoping to see a couple of gardens, one botanical and one orchid, some waterfalls, and, hopefully, some of the volcano! We heard last night that we won't be able to drive around the volcano as much as we would have hoped because of the winds.

Sorry there are no pictures, I'll try to post more later if we get back at a reasonable hour!
