Let's Talk

Now that we've watched it, let's talk about the movie! What did you think about it?

My thoughts: Compared to the book, I was dissapointed. This movie strayed further away from the book than any other. I feel like there were essential pieces of the Voldermort story left out of the movie that really explain how and why he became so powerful and evil. If it weren't for reading the book, I would have had trouble following since they only showed two Voldermort memories. I think they have some serious work to do with the last two films. I think they'll have to (or should) spend some time in movie 7 Part I setting up Voldermort's story to really explain the aforementioned evilness. And to leave out the fight scene at the end! That was so very important! They also left out lots of story lines for other characters. Yes, I know that the movie would have been umpteen hours long, but I would have sat through it! I think they could have made better use of their time playing down the teenage love part and showing some of the other important events.

I thought the movie was good, but it could have been so much better. I hardly believed that Harry and Genny liked each other! I would have liked to see that adolescent passion they had in the book played out on the big screen.

Tell me what you thought!

I totally agree! If I hadn't read the books, I would have thought it was a good movie. Being a book fan, I still think it was an okay movie, but it left so much out! I know that they can't add every little detail in, but there are so many little things that become big parts in book 7. No wonder they have to break it up into 2 movies. They have a lot of catching up to do.
